Alex Ray, Salsa Band base in London England UK, consists of 10-12 musicians led by the Colombian percussionist Alex Ray.. In May 1999, Alex formed Juanacho UK Salsa Band and appeared in front of 20.000 people at the most popular open air event in the Salsa calendar: “The Latin American Carnaval del Pueblo” in Bermondsey Park London. This proved an excellent stage to premiere the band with the large crowd enjoying the best in modern salsa and, in the end, were left pleading for more. The band has also performed
at: “Carnaval del Pueblo 2004” – along side Gilberto Santa Rosa In 2001 Ray changed the band’s name to Alex Ray & Orchestra. With a line-up of Latin an English musicians, the band play music based on the roots of traditional Salsa –as played in Latin America – infused with the rhythms of Mambo, Cumbia, Pachanga and Boogaloo. Our storming brass section and furious percussion guarantees you will dance the night away to the red hot Latin rhythms of a far off land! |
